In recent version of the PIP II the cavity coupling was optimized for CW operation. The goal was to minimize the power consumption. However, in pulsed operation regime the Lorentz Force Detune (LFD) is very high. To mitigate LFD problem, it is suggested to increase the cavity bandwidth using a simple external impedance transformer, which may be removed for future CW operation. It is shown that the pulsed power consumption is reasonable.
